Kelowna Squadron Training in Boating Safety, Seamanship & Marine Navigation
Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons A nationwide organization emphasizing boating safety, power and sail navigation and offering accredited boating courses. Since 1938, the volunteer trainers of Canada's largest association of boating enthusiasts have offered safe boating courses across Canada. Successful completion of the qualifying examinations for Boat Pro and the Boating Course lead to particular membership categories. Each category ensures special membership benefits. The Kelowna Squadron - One of over 200 Squadrons across Canada, the Kelowna Squadron received its charter in 1963. It continues to be a very active organization with over 200 members locally. Several courses are offered each year, and are taught by volunteer instructors, many of whom have extensive experience in coastal navigation and offshore cruising. Aug 2009 Aug 08 (Sat) - Pleasure Craft Operator Card - PCOC Course hosted by the Kelowna Squadron of CPS. Location is at the Kelowna Yacht Club - time 9:00 AM till 2:00 PM. Please register with Chris in the Yacht Club office at least one week in advance to receive course material for advance reading. Aug 11 (Tue) - Kelowna Squadron regular monthly Bridge meeting at the Kelowna Yacht Club - time 7:30 PM Sep 2009 Sep 08 (Tue) - Kelowna Squadron registration for the Fall Boating Courses. 7:00 PM at the Kelowna Yacht Club Dec 2009 Dec 13 (Sun) - Kelowna Squadron's Annual Christmas social at the Berry's. e-mail mberry11@shaw.ca for further info.
